Classroom Religious Education K-5
Students meet for 75 minutes weekly from September Through May 2009
On Tuesday 4:00 - 5:15pm

Doors open for students to gather in the cafeteria for class 15 minutes before class begins. Snacks are sold in the cafeteria and students on Tuesday are encouraged to bring or buy a snack to be eaten before class begins. All students are dismissed at  the auditorium doors and are to be picked up promptly.

Classroom Religion Grade 6-8
Sunday's twice a month 6:00-8:15 pm

Students in grades 6-8 meet for 90 minutes two Sundays a month.  Students will gather in the church for prayer and will be dismissed from the auditorium doors of the school. In order to help parents be involved in their child's Religious Education each grade has a parent/child activity as part of the program.

9th & 10th Grade Confirmation
1st Sunday of the month 6:15-8pm

The format will be similar to signing up and taking classes at the high school. Students will need to attend a variety of activities within the six components. Certain activities will be required but we have tried to give options whenever possible. Students will be given Confirmation journals and should bring these to all activities and events and be sure they are stamped and initialed by the leader or presenter. There is a place in the journal for the student’s comments and feedback that will help us plan for the future.

Family based Religious Education K-8
An increasingly popular option, 1 Saturday a month 9:30-11:30
Students work with parents at home on a weekly basis from October to April.

Students and parents gather once a month in the cafeteria. At this time students complete the unit review and everyone participates in an activity. The monthly gatherings are an opportunity for intergenerational learning and community building. Parents signing their children up for this option agree to commit themselves to attending all monthly gatherings.

This option is ideal for families who have difficulty getting students to the classroom Religious Education. It gives families the opportunity to share faith in a relaxed atmosphere.

Non-Traditional Students

Do you have children who have not had any formal religious education classes?

Do your school-age children still need to be baptized?

Are your children 8 or older and need to receive First Communion and Confession?

Has your child's religious education been interrupted?

Then the Family RCIC program is for you!

RCIC stand for Rite of Christian Initiation for Children, it is a process by which children 7 -16 years old receive the sacraments.

This program, which is for parents and children, will guide your children and you to basic knowledge of Catholicism (our beliefs and traditions) along with faith experiences.  The classes are held on Sunday mornings after the 9:00 Mass.
